Yes. Through the Guangdong Scheme and Fujian Scheme, eligible older persons who move to Guangdong Province or Fujian Province may continue to receive the relevant Hong Kong allowances. From 1 February 2026, the monthly allowance amounts are:
- Old Age Allowance (OAA, aged 70 or above): HK$1,675
- Old Age Living Allowance (OALA, aged 65 or above, subject to asset test): HK$4,345
The eligibility requirements are:
- Years of Hong Kong residence -- the applicant must have been a Hong Kong resident for at least 7 years.
- Continuous Hong Kong residence -- the applicant must have resided in Hong Kong continuously for at least 1 year immediately before the application date (absence from Hong Kong not exceeding 90 days during that year is still treated as meeting the continuous residence requirement).
- Payment period -- while receiving the allowance, the recipient must continue to live in Guangdong or Fujian Province (living there for at least 60 days in each payment year is sufficient to receive the full year""�s allowance).
Please note that the Guangdong Scheme and Fujian Scheme cover cash allowances only. They do not cover subsidised residential care places.
